This guide is meant to serve as a general overview of Slate.org application sharing settings for school counselors.

Individually, Slate partner institutions have the ability to modify which aspects of their application data they choose to share with secondary professionals utilizing Slate.org. This is an opt-in model, and the settings can be changed at any time.
The Students Section
Reviewing the Application Data Sharing Table
Click on the icon in the top navigation to see a list of students who have applied to Slate partner institutions that have opted in to share applicant data.
In addition to choosing to opt in to sharing applicant data, partner institutions have the choice to share as much or as little data as they please. Slate partner institutions may configure the following to be shared or not shared with schools in Slate.org:
|College||The name of the Slate partner institution to which the student has applied.|
|Round||The type of application that was submitted. This typically will correspond to the decision type, such as Regular Decision, Early Action, Early Decision, etc.|
|Deadline||The deadline of the application.|
|Status||The status of the application will be displayed here. While these can vary by institution, typically they are listed as: Awaiting Submission, Awaiting Payment, Awaiting Materials, Awaiting Decision, Awaiting Confirmation, Decided|
|Decision||Once a decision is made on an application, it will be posted here. Decision names can vary by institution.|
|Decision Date||The date the decision was made on the application.|
Navigating the Application Data Sharing Table
When you click on a student's record, you may see the following view:
In our example, we clicked on the record for Lucille Ball. Lucille has 2 applications submitted to Slate University. In addition, you will see that Slate University has enabled Batch Material Upload which allows for the upload of documents to Lucille's record. If these items are uploaded here, they will apply to all of her applications to Slate University.
If one application is chosen in this view (i.e., the Slate University 2019 Regular Decision Application), a summary of only this application record will display, including the following:
- The college name, round, deadline and status.
- Application Checklist. If enabled, the application checklist that is viewed by the applicant on their application status portal will be visible. Items that have not been processed by the institution will be marked with and items that have been processed by the institution will be marked with . The date it was processed ("Received") will be displayed. Remember, the institution may have received the document, but may not have processed it to the student record just yet.
- Upload Supporting Documents Section. If enabled, this provides the ability to upload items directly to the student's application record at the institution. The available items for upload are listed in the drop down menu. After choosing the document type, then choosing the file, click on to complete the process. Successful uploaded documents will be listed in this section.
The Colleges Section
Reviewing Data in the Colleges Section
Click on the icon in the top navigation.
The list of Slate partner institutions are those who have accepted a visit invitation from your organization and/or have applicants in common with your organization. This view is a summary of the number of visits they are registered for or have attended and the total number of applications your school shares with these institutions.
Click on a row and the summary will show the following application details:
Applications: A list of students who have applied to the chosen institution will show, along with their application data.
By clicking on an applicant, application details as explained above will be displayed.
Current and/or Previous Visits: A summary of visits, including the type, date, and status will be displayed.
